Financial Disclosures, Institutional Relationships & Public Records Research

Explore the financial activities, institutional relationships, regulatory disclosures, and publicly reported expenditures of organizations operating within the United States through US Influence & Disclosure Intelligence (UIDI), an independent financial research application developed by AuditingAccounting.com. The application brings together information from official government reporting systems to help users investigate financial flows, corporate activities, organizational connections, and public disclosure records in a structured and professional research environment. Designed for accountants, investors, financial analysts, auditors, compliance professionals, academics, business researchers, journalists, and interested members of the public, UIDI emphasizes factual accuracy, financial context, transparent sourcing, and responsible interpretation of official information.

U.S. CAMPAIGN & PUBLIC FINANCE RESEARCH

Follow the money.

Search federal candidates across past and present election cycles, or explore PACs, party committees, state election sources and other official research tools. No government identifiers required to start.

Original government records · No inferred transfers

Choose a starting point.

Looking for a governor or state-legislature candidate? State campaign finances are not FEC records. UIDI currently supports election-return feeds for Arizona and California, but does not yet import statewide campaign-finance transactions.
Explore all UIDI research workspaces (existing tools preserved)
Which official government records are available?
FEC · Live on-demand APICandidate registrations, committee financial reports, PACs, party committees and outside spending. Requires configured API key.
State election authorities · Limited adaptersArizona and California source adapters; results depend on validated imports, with no nationwide coverage implied.
Lobbying Disclosure (LDA)Separate research of lobbying clients, registrants and quarterly disclosures; not a direct payment to a legislator.
IRS 527Existing electronic-filing import; not an always-live IRS search.
USAspending · Official APIFederal awards and obligations, not payments to politicians or proof of lobbying influence.
Congressional disclosures + SECSelected congressional finance records and separate corporate research; exact identity review required.
Additional planned source adaptersCongress.gov membership, expanded state campaign finance and DOJ FARA need separate verified integration; not falsely represented as live.

Source coverage is not universal. Each agency has its own reporting dates, disclosure thresholds and legal restrictions. Similar names are not verified connections.

Evidence and lawful-use rules: Original FEC disclosures are public, but use of individual-contributor information for solicitation or commercial purposes is restricted under 52 U.S.C. § 30111(a)(4) and 11 CFR § 104.15. This workspace does not provide individual-donor contact exports or name-derived donor identities. Outside spending is not a candidate contribution. Shared vendors, employer fields and other similarities cannot establish coordination, wrongdoing or political affiliation. Original filings can be corrected or amended; every material assertion should be checked against its filing and reporting period. This is neutral research, not a finding of unlawful conduct or legal advice.
FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE RESEARCH

Follow financial records across institutions.

Explore official committee finances, institutional filings and public expenditure records. Study each reporting entity on its own terms, with SEC financial context when a documented corporate connection exists.

RESEARCH STANDARDEvidence before inference.

Every reporting system has distinct measures. Name matches are research leads, not verified affiliations. Review original records before drawing conclusions.

What are you trying to understand?

Choose one question. We will open the relevant official-data research tools. Figures are explained in plain language, with their sources and reporting dates.

What do the financial figures mean?
Receipts
Money a campaign or PAC reported receiving. Not all receipts are individual donations.
Disbursements
Money reported paid out. This is not the same as a donor's contribution or a politician's personal spending.
Cash on hand
Reported funds remaining at the end of a specific reporting period; not a company valuation.
Independent expenditures
Outside committee spending supporting or opposing a candidate; not a direct contribution to that candidate.
Investment disclosure value range
A historical asset value band, sometimes for a spouse or dependent, not an exact stock holding or current price.
Filing date and coverage date
When the government received a report versus the period the report describes. They may differ.

Start with the question, then read the source and reporting period. Do not add unrelated agency totals.

Election results and the money behind the campaigns

Explore official state-reported votes in UIDI, then open separately reported federal campaign finances and PAC spending. Arizona and California have automatic-source adapters; results appear only after a validated import.

Election returns and financial disclosures come from different reporting systems. Results are unofficial unless expressly certified by the state.

Coverage, official sources and collection methods

Arizona's state-authorized JSON feed is checked hourly. California's Secretary of State API is checked in bounded district batches, with separate error and freshness reporting. Only validated 2026 election observations are published; failed updates retain the last accepted snapshot. Not all states or contests are covered, and incomplete data must not be treated as zero votes or certified results.

Investigate named political donors using official FEC records

UIDI does not import published political-giving totals from outside research organizations. Selected public-figure names are research prompts only. The Donor Evidence Newsroom below attributes individual FEC receipts to named people only after an editor reviews identity evidence. The full FEC name-search directory remains available for exploratory research with clear identity and coverage limitations.

DONOR–PAC RELATIONSHIP DESK

Who gave to which committee?

Explore exact FEC receiving committees and editor-reviewed identity evidence. Each link connects a named donor profile to a specific disclosed receipt, not to every expenditure of the receiving PAC.

No reviewed receipts yet

The newsroom has no identity-reviewed donor receipts yet. On-demand exploratory FEC name searches remain available in the Major Donors workspace. No external donor-giving totals are imported. New relationships only appear here after an editor verifies a specific filing and supporting identity evidence.

Scope and verification: These are SELECTED editor-reviewed FEC Schedule A receipt entries, not a complete list of major donors or a donor-cycle total. Identity associations were reviewed by a site editor against cited independent evidence; the FEC does not certify that a named donor profile and a contributor-name record are the same person. A committee party field describes its FEC registration, not the donor's own party affiliation. Donations to a PAC do not prove that the donor financed any particular candidate or independent expenditure. Joint fundraising and transfers can introduce duplicate economic flows. The FEC may amend filings. No outside publisher contribution totals are used.

How to read this: These are six distinct committee financial summaries, not a complete party-wide or national campaign total. Receipts include more than donor contributions. Intercommittee transfers can duplicate sums; comparing or adding different financial periods is misleading. Missing figures are not zeros. FEC updates can lag and reports can be amended.

2026 reporting: The post-general reporting period ends November 23 and reports are due December 3. Official FEC deadline schedule. Source retrieval time is not the reported financial cutoff.

Follow named donors: Continue to the major-donor FEC research directory below. Its contributor-name search results do not by themselves establish a person's identity or a direct payment to a political party. Only separately reviewed receipts appear as attributed donor relationships.

Reported connected-organization names are displayed separately from mere search hits. A name match is not independent proof that two legal entities are the same.

What do FEC and lobbying records actually say about this organization?

After finding FEC committee registrations, retrieve exact-name client filings from the official Lobbying Disclosure Act system in one step. View the named lobbying firms, original filing evidence, and separately reviewed SEC issuer links without inventing a corporate relationship or combining unrelated financial amounts.

Run the FEC organization search first.

Research boundary: FEC committee-name search does not establish complete corporate-family coverage. Lobbying search results, if opened, are independent potential name matches and are not automatically connected to PACs, SEC issuers, contractors or donors.

Start by entering its name. Search official FEC committee registrations, select the correct committee and open its financial connections. You do not need to find an ID first.

Search by name. UIDI will retrieve official FEC committee identifiers automatically.

Already know the official FEC committee ID?

Use the ID for a precise investigation, or find it on FEC's official committee search.

Choose a committee from the name search to see its registration, reported committee-to-committee receipts and separately reported candidate spending. The requested records may be incomplete or amended.

Find the documented connection

Choose two entities, then inspect every reported step between them. This is a relationship trail, not proof that the same dollars passed along the entire path. Expand a committee's official records to reveal more available connections.

Select two records and choose Find documented path.

Reviewing published evidence…

Inspect the relationship evidence and original records

Important: a contribution to a PAC is not a contribution to every politician it supports. FEC party fields are registration classifications, not donor political affiliations. Connections to SEC issuers, lobbying clients or federal award recipients appear only when independently reviewed and supported by official evidence. Missing links are not evidence that no relationship exists.

Data definitions, verification and research limitations

FEC employer groups describe contributors’ workplaces, not organizational contributions or industry sectors. FEC committee reports are not corporate general ledgers. PAC finances are separate from sponsor treasury spending. Cash balances are stocks, not cumulative flows. Itemized Schedule B rows and award records shown here are bounded, nonrepresentative samples. Federal award obligations are not GAAP revenue. Lobbying registrant income must not be combined indiscriminately with client expenditure. IRS 527 records are imported electronic-filing snapshots; they are not live IRS API responses and do not include paper filings or Form 990. IRS Form 8872 Schedule A/B sums are filing-specific indexed line items and cannot be combined across amendments or overlapping filing periods. Name similarities do not establish affiliation, and no record is an allegation of misconduct. Filings may be amended; confirm material decisions against original records. No person-level donor prospecting or politician ratings.

Understanding Financial Flows and Institutional Relationships

Understanding an organization’s financial activities often requires examining information maintained by several independent regulatory agencies. Corporate financial statements, government awards, organizational expenditures, and institutional disclosures each provide different perspectives on economic activity.

US Influence & Disclosure Intelligence provides a unified research environment for exploring these sources while preserving the distinctions between reporting entities, financial measurements, and disclosure requirements.

Rather than presenting isolated financial figures without context, the application helps researchers examine the underlying records, identify potentially relevant organizational relationships, and understand the limitations of publicly available information.

Explore the Research Workspaces

Financial Flows and Expenditure Research

Investigate publicly reported financial receipts, expenditures, organizational disbursements, and other disclosed financial activity.

Financial-flow research can help users understand how different organizations report the receipt and use of funds, how expenditure patterns change over time, and how financial disclosures relate to an organization’s stated activities.

Because different reporting systems use different accounting definitions, UIDI distinguishes reported amounts from independently calculated analytical measures.

Organizations and Institutions

Explore organizational identities and publicly documented relationships involving corporations, committees, institutions, and other reporting entities.

Identifying organizations accurately is essential when researching public financial records. Similar names do not necessarily indicate that organizations are legally related, and a disclosed relationship does not automatically imply financial control or common ownership.

UIDI emphasizes source-supported identification and makes appropriate distinctions between verified relationships and potential matches requiring further investigation.

Corporate Financial and SEC Disclosure Research

Examine corporate financial information using the application’s inherited SEC EDGAR financial analysis capabilities.

Research publicly filed financial statements, historical accounting information, company disclosures, financial ratios, and supporting financial data.

These capabilities provide a financial foundation for examining organizational activity in the context of reported corporate performance and regulatory disclosures.

Government Relationships and Federal Awards

Explore publicly available federal award-recipient records and related government expenditure information.

Federal award data can help researchers identify organizations associated with government contracts, financial assistance, and other reported public expenditures.

These records are particularly relevant to business research, public procurement analysis, industry studies, and examinations of government-related economic activity.

Federal contract obligations and award amounts are not necessarily equivalent to payments received or revenue recognized in corporate financial statements. UIDI preserves these accounting distinctions to support accurate interpretation.

Organizational Contributions and Expenditures

Research publicly reported committee-level financial information from the Federal Election Commission, including organizational identification, financial receipts, disbursements, and available summary records.

These disclosures provide information about the financial administration of regulated organizations and committees. The application presents them as official financial records rather than assessments of individuals or organizations.

Where corporate connections are relevant, separately organized committee finances must not be confused with direct corporate treasury expenditures.

Lobbying and Institutional Disclosure Research

Examine officially reported federal lobbying disclosures, including registered organizations, clients, filing information, and reported financial amounts where available.

Lobbying disclosures provide useful context about institutional participation in government processes and matters affecting industries, businesses, and other organizations.

Lobbying is a lawful activity subject to applicable disclosure requirements. A lobbying registration or expenditure is not evidence of improper conduct.

The application approaches these records as organizational and financial disclosures, without assigning motives or suggesting misconduct based solely on reported activity.

Institutional Network and Corporate Connection Research

Institutional financial research often involves relationships among parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliated organizations, service providers, and other reporting entities.

UIDI provides a framework for examining these relationships using public records, with particular attention to identifying the correct legal and reporting entities.

Connections that cannot be verified should not be treated as established facts. This distinction is essential for responsible corporate research and reliable financial interpretation.

Historical Disclosure Analysis

Historical research can reveal changes in reported financial activity, organizational structures, expenditure patterns, and filing information over time.

Researchers should consider filing dates, reporting periods, amended disclosures, and differences in reporting requirements when comparing records across different years.

The application’s historical analysis and SEC research capabilities provide a foundation for studying these changes without assuming that correlations demonstrate causation.

Research and Reporting

Organize selected source references, examine supporting information, and export available research records for further examination.

The research workspace includes tools for collecting references during a browser session and exporting structured source information where supported.

These capabilities are designed to support independent examination, accounting workpapers, academic research, business analysis, and further verification against original filings.

Official Government Data Sources

US Influence & Disclosure Intelligence uses publicly available information from authoritative United States reporting systems. Its current integrated research capabilities include the following sources:

  • U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC): Corporate filings, financial statements, historical company disclosures, and accounting information available through EDGAR.
  • Federal Election Commission (FEC): Public committee identification, financial reporting, receipts, disbursements, and available committee summaries.
  • Federal Lobbying Disclosure System: Registered lobbying clients, reporting organizations, filing details, and disclosed financial information.
  • USAspending.gov: Federal award-recipient information and reported government expenditure records.

Additional public disclosure sources may be incorporated as the application develops. Availability of individual research functions depends on the relevant source, API access, reporting requirements, and software version.

Accuracy, Transparency and Responsible Research

Financial information can be misunderstood when figures from different sources are combined without considering accounting classifications, reporting periods, organizational identities, and disclosure limitations.

UIDI is designed around responsible financial research principles:

  • Source transparency: Research findings should be traceable to identifiable official documents or government reporting systems.
  • Financial accuracy: Different accounting measures and reporting classifications must not be treated as interchangeable.
  • Organizational verification: Institutional relationships should be supported by reliable documentary evidence.
  • Neutral presentation: Financial records are presented without partisan commentary, personal accusations, or sensational conclusions.
  • Contextual interpretation: Reported financial activity must be understood within the relevant legal, accounting, and regulatory reporting framework.
  • Research limitations: Missing information, reporting delays, incomplete datasets, and uncertain relationships should be distinguished from established facts.

An unusual transaction, a significant expenditure, or the existence of an institutional relationship does not independently establish wrongdoing. Public records must be interpreted carefully and fairly.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is US Influence & Disclosure Intelligence?

US Influence & Disclosure Intelligence is an independent financial and public-records research application that brings together SEC corporate financial information, government expenditure records, organizational financial disclosures, and institutional reporting data.

How is UIDI different from SEC EDGAR Financial Analyzer?

SEC EDGAR Financial Analyzer focuses on corporate filings, accounting information, financial statement analysis, and related SEC research. UIDI is a separate application with a broader scope, incorporating inherited SEC financial research capabilities alongside additional government financial and organizational disclosure sources.

Is UIDI affiliated with any government agency?

No. UIDI is independently developed by AuditingAccounting.com. It uses publicly available government information but is not affiliated with or endorsed by the agencies whose records it examines.

Does UIDI investigate individuals or determine wrongdoing?

No. The application is intended for factual financial and institutional research. It does not determine whether an individual or organization has engaged in unlawful activity, and the existence of a reported financial transaction must not be interpreted as proof of misconduct.

Can I use UIDI to research corporate relationships?

Yes. The application supports research into organizational identities and available public records that may be relevant to corporate relationships. However, apparent similarities or potential associations require verification before being treated as confirmed connections.

Are the public financial records always complete and current?

No. Each reporting agency operates under its own filing requirements, publication schedules, and correction procedures. Data may be incomplete, delayed, amended, or temporarily unavailable. Users should consult the original records when making material decisions.

Can UIDI predict future financial performance?

UIDI supports historical financial analysis and examination of disclosed information. It cannot guarantee future business performance, regulatory outcomes, or investment returns. Historical relationships between financial variables should not be treated as proof of future results.
